In general, Durarara!! is about a city in Japan called Ikebukuro. Strange and mysterious, country boy Mikado explores the city bit by bit with his childhood friend, Kida, who long moved into the city. They then befriended a classmate, Anri.

There are numerous dangerous people in Ikebukuro that Kida advised Mikado not to get involved such as the ever-inhumanely-strong Heiwajima Shizuo, cunning Orihara Izaya and the colour gangs namely the Yellow Scarves and the Blue Squares. There was also a colourless group called the Dollars which recently is active in the city. However, the most attractive of all is a dullahan who works as a courier in the city called Celty Strulson. A dullahan is the famed Irish headless fairy.

Mikado dreams of being different and as Izaya said, even different will become normal in a matter of three days. In order to keep being different, Mikado will have to keep evolving. He is the leader of the Dollars, which shocked me! Kida is haunted by the accident which came about his girlfriend and is ultimately revealed that his leadership as the shogun of the Yellow Scarves has something to do with it. A slashing incident has been going on in the city and Anri is the culprit behind it. Celty lives with a young underground doctor, Shinra and is on the look for her missing head. For some bizzare reasons, Shizuo who is often in his bartender clothes and works as a debt collector with Tom detests Izaya who is an information dealer, to his bones since the first time they ever met by Shinra's introduction.

Throughout, the characters know each other as friends or acquaintances or nemesis. As a result of the three classmates' silence about their true identity, troubles began to unfold as the members of the Yellow Scarves are attacking the Dollars members. In the end, Celty, with her knowledge of the three high school students profile helped solve the problem. Izaya, with all the resources he has, has been manipulating everyone, claiming his love for human -except Shizuo- as the reason behind it.

Mikado, Kida and Anri

Shizuo. He's my favourite character. What's stupid about him is despite his very short fuse (he can go angry just because he doesn't like someone talking to him -and attack that person of course) and volcanic rage, he claims that he hates violence. His name literally meant peaceful island and serene man. He is considered the strongest in Ikebukuro and is terribly feared.

His signature weapons are lamp posts, road signs and vending machines.

Orihara Izaya. His name sounds funny. AND I HATE HIM.

Natural enemies. Izaya likes to provoke him.

I found some pretty good cosplay too.

Celty! If only the boobs are slightly bigger and the hands more slender, it would be perfect!

Shizuo. This one is really good! <3

Finally, a little dessert! Hahaa!

Throughout, I learned of the power of media and connections, art of manipulation and the significance of evolution. In my opinion, psychology forms the core of this anime which makes it outstanding.
