In fact, I have too many movies that I did not review on. I'll try to catch up =P
Now, Red Cliff!
I watched this one or two years ago. Last night I watched it again because Takeshi Kaneshiro is SO HOT. Thank you.
This is a good movie. I remember the first time I watched it I was gobsmacked. The progress and the characters (TAKESHI KANESHIRO!) are a great ensemble.
But last night, I just laughed throughout. The difference is due to my extended knowledge of the three kingdoms. Prior to 三国, I did not know the history that well, so I thought what Red Cliff portrayed was accurate. It turns out it was so wrong.
Number one: Zhou Yu was NEVER good friends with Zhuge Liang. They try to kill each other.
Number two: Cao Cao wasn't released out of mercy; he escaped.
Number three: Liu Bei did not retract his promise then rejoined later. WTF!
I understand that there are many variations to the story, however these are not accounts of the sources I got. What nonsense. They may have added these to enhance the quality of the storyline. That, I understand. As I said, it's a good movie. But it's a really huge distortion of history.
Rate: 7/10
Anyway, TAKESHI KANESHIRO is my point. He is <3 Though I think Lu Yi is way better, Takeshi is not bad too. Requirements of a movie, I understand. In a movie, you can't put in every details.
Zhang Fengyi, he's an awesome actor.
If you thought that I don't have the hots for TAKESHI KANESHIRO, then you're very wrong. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
