They got news that my granduncle got admitted into the hospital. They wanted to visit and see what is there to help. I went home earlier than I planned (I didn't get to buy my stuff) and discussed about when to depart. I suggested we stay that night in Ipoh which later turned out to be the best choice because by the time I got into the shower, updates informed us that he was admitted into the ICU. Critical.
I never thought I can achieve one hour and a half driving time from KL to Ipoh at first trial. Hahaa!

Anyway, the next morning, since we're in Ipoh we have to go try all the best things there are.
You probably know OldTown so well since it's all around KL. But do you know of the origins? Yes, it's from Ipoh. But the pioneer to white coffee is actually this shop:
Then the shop directly opposite it started selling white coffee as well. But the latter's owner's son is a smart person. He turned the business into franchise which made it so well-known until today.
The former is full, so we went to the latter.
We left Ipoh and went to Kuala Kangsar to pick up another aunt. The entire journey to Penang is filled with them chattering at the backseat with me busy listening and joining at the same time. LOL.
Penang. WHAT HORRIBLE DRIVERS THEY HAVE!!
They don't stay on their lane, they don't realise the function of the signal and the motorcyclist thinks they own the road. WTF.
The hospital.
Since my granduncle was in the ICU, all the relatives can do is wait outside. From time to time, a nurse will come out and call out the patient's name and the relatives or friends are supposed to go forward or go into the ward. When my granduncle's name was called, we all got into a panic state. No one knows why they call. At that point in time, everyone hoped for the best and that his condition did not get worst.
Thankfully, his condition did improve later in the evening. Everyone present, especially my grandaunt who has lost 70% of herself was filled with a huge sigh of relief.
I did not go in to see him. From how they described it, it sounded really bad so I don't really want to see. But I wished for the best. Well, it did came true =)
He still need to stay in the hospital for some time though. But since it's stable now, it's good.
I went to the same restaurant twice in the same day because some of my relatives are vegetarian. So we have to tolerate them. This is by far the best vegetarian food I had tried but still, I hate vegetarian food.
My uncle who knows Penang like the back of his hand, brought us to Cheng Ho's Temple. Apparently that's where his footprint is.
Haha. It's huge, but I wouldn't believe that it's his real footprint. I prayed to him. I don't know why people pray to Cheng Ho but since he's a traveller, I would imagine that he blesses people with safe journeys.
So I told him to bless me on my way to UK. Ahahaa.
BALIK PULAU DURIANS ARE AWESOME LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW.
ENOUGH SAID.
I stayed in Penang for a night at a bargain price! RM150 per night for a spacious room!
If you can see, the small island opposite is called Pulau Jerejak. It used to be a confinement for prisoners but it has now became a resort. My uncle said it's not worth a try though because there's nothing much to do on the other side.
All in all, these are the highlights.
Am glad that my granduncle is fine. When my grandfather saw him, he encourages his little brother and comforted him that he will get better. What brotherly love!
I STILL haven't blog about Sekinchan.
Aish. Hahaa.
Toodles~!
