Firstly, WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD.
Let's start.
Lelouch Vi Britannia is the prince of Britannia, 17th to the throne. When he was young, his mother, Empress Marianne was assasinated in front of him and his sister went blind and crippled. When questioned, his father, the Emperor of Britannia refused to find out the culprit and sent both Lelouch and Nunally to Japan as political tools. Due to this, Lelouch harbors great hatred towards his father.
It was at his stay at Japan that he met Kururugi Suzaku, his one and only friend.
Suzaku and Lelouch
Not long after, Britannia declared war upon Japan. Lelouch was devastated at the event as he thought his father, the Emperor should know his and Nunally's presence at Japan. Thus, Lelouch vows to destroy Britannia, especially directed to his father.
Japan is overthrown and was named Area 11 and it's citizens as Elevens. He and Nunally seek shelter at the Ashford family, and both became students of Ashford Academy. He hides both his and Nunally's identity to Lelouch Lamperouge and Nunally Lamperouge.
Upon twist of fate, he met Kururugi Suzaku again after a few years. On the same day, both also encounter a girl by the name C.C. Being mistaken for terrorist, Lelouch was pursued by the Britannian army. Suzaku was shot but the bullet hit his father's pocket watch instead. C.C. took a bullet directed to Lelouch. This leaves Lelouch to think that C.C. has died. Just when he thought his life was over, C.C. grab hold of his hand and granted him the power of Geass. Lelouch agrees and binds a contract with C.C. Geass manifested in him in the form of absolute obedience. This marks the beginning of Lelouch's long-sworn oath to destroy Britannia. With the help of the immortal C.C., he begin to take on the identity of Zero and launch his rebellion, becoming Britannia's number one enemy.
There's two of his motives; to find the murderer of his mother and to create a better world for Nunally.
When his actions begins on a large scale along with the foundation of his own army, The Black Knights, he begin to think of Nunally's safety. He planned to entrust Nunally to Suzaku, but was shocked to find out that the ace of the Britannian army appears to be Suzaku, the pilot of the ever superb knightmare, Lancelot.
Encounters with his sisters, Euphemia and Cornelia did not make the situation any better; Lelouch originally plans to annihilate all Britannian royalty and had already killed his brother, Clovis.

Suzaku eventually meets Euphemia and both fell in love. Unfortunately, when Lelouch's Geass can no longer be controlled, Euphie was accidentally 'ordered' to kill all the Japanese as Lelouch was simply joking. Seeing that there's no way to stop the Geass being put on her, Lelouch used the oppurtunity to announce Euphie's plan as a fraud. Lelouch killed Euphemia in the process.
In the beginning of R2, Lelouch is shown to have lost his memories or more accurately, had his memories altered by his father, the Emperor's Geass. Yes, the Emperor has Geass too, given to him by his brother V.V. All those who knew Lelouch had their memories altered.Instead of having sister Nunally, Lelouch has brother Rolo Lamperouge.

The remnants of the Black Knights with C.C. leading rescue's Lelouch from the Britannian army from killing him and revives his memories.
Once again, Zero rises and begins his rebellion. However, things got more complicated when Suzaku has been appointed Knight Of Rounds, Britannia's top-ranked knights under direct order of the Emperor and swore to kill Lelouch. Moreover, Nunally has been captured by the Emperor as a weapon against him as the Emperor knew Lelouch treasures Nunally more than anything.
Desperate, he knew that somehow he have to fight against his own sister at this point.
Knight Of Rounds
Later, he collaborated with the
Chinese Federation in order to gain more army support and to find the research base of the
World of C. He is determined to destroy V.V.
Cornelia was present at the base and found out about Geass. She spilled the secret to her brother,
Prince Schneizel. Schneizel uses this to provoke a betrayal towards Lelouch.
The Black Knights sold Lelouch out easily as Zero never reveals his identity as Lelouch Lamperouge or Lelouch Vi Britannia. Rolo came just in time to save Lelouch despite being shouted at and revealed about Lelouch's real intentions in using him and kill him afterwards by Lelouch himself.
Rolo died as he overuses his Geass to runaway from the pursuing parties.
Lelouch realized that Rolo took Lelouch seriously as his brother and buried Rolo properly, leaving the locket at his tomb.
His father managed to obtain V.V. code just before V.V. died in Lelouch's last attack of the research base thus makes him immortal. Lelouch went to hunt after his father and being one step behind, took the last resort and sealed himself with his father in the
Sword of Akasha. There, he begin to question his father for Empress Marianne's death and his actions up until present.
Apparently Empress Marianne too have Geass, and it's power allows the user to travel to other's mind. At this point, Empress Marianne's Geass activates on Anya and went along into the Sword of Akasha. Suzaku also managed to enter the Sword of Akasha with the help of C.C. just in time to find out the
TRUTH with Lelouch. Lelouch strongly deny the world that his parents dreamed off, and uses his Geass to order the World of C to not stop time. His parents dissappear, leaving him, Suzaku and C.C.
Not long after, Lelouch declare himself as the
99th Emperor of Britannia, revealing to everyone on live broadcast across the world that he killed his father. He also appointed Suzaku as Knight of Zero. Using Geass, he made the other royalty of Britannia to acknowledge him and the soldiers of Brittania as his slave.
Thus, Emperor Lelouch is hailed troughout Britannia.
In actual, it was a plan to direct the hatred of the world towards him while erasing Euphie's name as the massacre princess.
When at last he beaten Schneizel, and use Geass on him, he parades all the Black Knights and others associated such as the Chinese Federation for execution. However, out of nowhere, Zero appears. The Zero was Suzaku. He drew his sword and stabs Lelouch, crying silently behind the mask. As Lelouch fell, Nunally and the rest realizes Lelouch and Suzaku's actual plan;
Zero Requiem. At Lelouch last words, Nunally screamed,

AND, surprisingly I did not dislike Suzaku; remained neutral. Maybe it's because his ideas made sense too.
There's been arguments as to whether
Lelouch lives or died. Much as I want to believe,
Lelouch LIVES.

sunrise did a great job
if you want him to die, he died
if you want him to live, he still lives
it depends on the fans
so at the same time there is a chance for a third season and on the other hand there isnt
great ending, great anime, all in all, EPIC
I want Lelouch to live. So, he lives! =)

Jun Fukuyama, the seiyuu for Lelouch is now
my favourite.
He totally portrayed Lelouch so well.
All in all, I give this anime a
9/10.
This is one anime that I cannot predict it's moves and outcomes.
